Hammer Series heads for Norway in 2018
Stavanger to host second Hammer event next year

Hammer Series is all about the team. In a revolutionary format, Hammer Series will crown the world's best pro cycling team with three different challenges across three unforgettable days: the Hammer Sprint, Hammer Climb and Hammer Chase. In selected cities around the world, each Hammer Series event will test the strength in depth of every team. The strongest team will be crowned the best in the world.

Hammer Series will push the world’s finest teams to the max across the sport's core disciplines. Cycling is a team sport with individual prizes but Hammer Series changes all that. Behind every Yellow Jersey or Maglia Rosa are committed teams who help their leaders to glory. Hammer Series tests sprinting, climbing and time trialling in a unique and innovative format. It's bike racing, reimagined.

Teams bring a squad of seven, with five riders competing each day. Hammer Series will host up to 18 teams including 12 from the WorldTour. WorldTour teams include Bahrain Merida, BMC Racing Team, Cannondale-Drapac, Lotto Soudal, Movistar Team, ORICA-SCOTT, Quick-Step Floors, Team LottoNL-Jumbo, Team Sky, Team Sunweb, Trek-Segafredo and UAE Team Emirates.

Hammer Series will take place in carefully selected cities around the globe; the Norwegian city of Stavanger will be next to host the revolutionary Hammer Series in 2018. The second-ever Hammer Series event, following the debut event in Limburg in June 2017, will run back-to-back with the three-day Tour des Fjords: the best professional teams in the world battling it out in the rugged Norwegian landscape.

The Hammer Series is a dynamic, ground-breaking race format: team versus team across multiple days with one ultimate winner. It has been designed with the fans in mind, to deliver maximum excitement in a fast and easy-to-follow format for both die-hard and new racing fans. The structure of the points system and races ensure the team's performance is tested and rewarded - not just that of the individual.
