LIMBURG IS STEEPED IN CYCLING TRADITION AND STARTED THE HAMMER SERIES IN STYLE

The Hammer Race

The Hammer Series sprang into action at Hammer Sportzone Limburg in the host city of Sittard-Geleen at the world-class Sportzone Limburg facility. The racing opened on the rolling hills in Vaals for the very first Hammer Climb, before teams returned to the blisteringly flat roads for the inaugural Hammer Sprint and Chase.

The Festival

The 4-day cycling festival will not only be pro racing but a chance to participate in races, relax with friends, and grab a bite to eat. Team parades, bike experience areas, entertainment and the expo will make this a hub to hang out, watch the races and have a fun-filled day.

About Limburg

The scenic province of Limburg is the most southerly in all of the Netherlands nestled snugly between Belgium and Germany. Boasting a hilly landscape, Limburg is best known in cycling as the provincial venue for the Amstel Gold Race spring classic; fittingly, the locals are sport fanatics, with hundreds of sport clubs and organisations, making the area a truly ideal location to ensure the premiere race of the Hammer Series is unforgettable.

The first Hammer Series Race – Hammer Sportzone Limburg – will be based in the host city of Sittard-Geleen and its world-class Sportzone Limburg sports facility – which includes a brand new and innovative cycling training and testing track that the Hammer Sportzone Limburg will officially launch into public use. Sittard-Geleen itself is an exuberant city, packed full of culture and history complemented with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong, growing economy.
